Despite embarking on their first-ever continental adventure, Crystal Palace are adapting at a rapid pace. Missing star players like forward Jean-Philippe Mateta and defender Daniel Muñoz, the London club left Dublin with a commanding result that virtually guarantees them a spot in the Conference League qualifying rounds.
Another three points in their upcoming match against Finnish KuPS ought to be sufficient to seal direct passage to the last 16, particularly following a previous stumble against Strasbourg.
Squad Members Seize the Moment
This match offered a chance for several Palace's fringe players to impress. Christantus Uche, in only his second start since arriving on loan from Getafe, opened the account with a well-taken finish. Forward Eddie Nketiah added a another, finding the net for the second consecutive match.
The Shelbourne side that had finished their domestic season were no match against a mostly second-string Palace lineup. The Londoners were further weakened by the reports that Mateta and Muñoz are out with leg injuries.

After the break, coach Oliver Glasner took the chance to withdraw key individuals like Kamada and Wharton. Replacement Romain Esse almost scoring his very first touch, but saw his effort blocked.
Esse was desperately unlucky later on, seeing one attempt crash off both posts before being gathered on the line. Uche also missed a sitter of a chance, showing there is still scope for development in his game.
The only concern for Palace was a late injury to Justin Devenny, who limped off. This allowed 17-year-old forward Benji Casey to make his senior debut, rounding off an otherwise positive evening for the visiting side.
